Abstract
Hospital organization is intricately composed of special and diverse professionals. To effectively achieve the goal of the organization, it is essential that the leader has the leadership that could effectively draw the maximum capability of each member and the cooperation among the various professionals. Especially, the interaction between the professionals in engaging in medical practice is very important, thus the leadership of manager is also crucial as one needs to deliver the vision and objectives of CEO and take actions with members. Nursing organization requires its members to have consistent commitment, contribution and passionate participation to the task as it mutually survives with the hospital organization. Thus, the interest toward leadership, the management capacity of nursing manager has increased as the role of leader forms the trust and improves relations among members, and affects the human resources management of the nursing organization. Regional public hospitals started to assure the universal use of medical system and provision of health improvement programs to follow up with the changes of medical environment. And they need business performance such as profitability and efficiency like any private medical organizations. Thus, the regional public hospitals need to manage the human resources of nursing organization effectively, and the changes in leadership became the core element.
Thus, to examine the influence of the leadership's organizational commitment and job satisfaction of members based on the competing values leadership of Quinn and McGrath(1985) which categorized it into status quo, pursuit of change, leading, and considerate type in accordance with categorization of the leadership types into outward-inward oriented aspect, and flexibility-control of members, and confirmed that the competing values leadership of nursing manager have positive effect on the organizational commitment and job satisfaction of nurses.
